NUU determines the version of yum dynamically and changes its behavior
accordingly, at least for yum versions between 2.2.2 and 2.6.1. Therefore it
should be possible to install versions of yum that are newer than the ones
provided on http://redhawk.concurrent-rt.com/nuu, if those versions of yum work
in the environment in which they are installed.

However, yum versions have dependencies on certain rpm and python versions.
Here are some yum requirements for versions of yum relevant to nuu:

   yum 2.2.2  requires rpm >= 4.1.1  requires python >= 2.2
   yum 2.4.x  requires rpm >= 4.1.1  requires python >= 2.3
   yum 2.6.x  requires rpm >= 4.1.1  requires python >= 2.3

These are the configurations known to work:

Linux Distribution yum version rpm version python version

RHEL3 / RedHawk 2.x  yum-2.2.2-1.rhel3  rpm-4.2.2-0.14       python-2.2.3-6.1
